Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken

Impatient with her corpse-cleaning duties at the House of Black and White, Arya demands details from the Waif about what happens to the bodies. Arya asks to play the Game of Faces again, but is told she already failed. Pressing the Waif about her origins, Arya learns she too was once a highborn girl from Westeros. She came to serve the Faceless Men in exchange for the death of her stepmother, who tried to poison her. Spotting the total belief in Arya's face, the Waif tells her she has failed again.

Jaqen H'ghar wakes Arya later that night to play the game, striking her when he detects a lie. Arya describes the Hound as a man she hated, and Jaqen hits her repeatedly when she insists it's the truth.

A man arrives at the temple with his sick daughter, Ghita, and asks Arya to tend to the ailing girl. "She suffers every day of her life," says the man. "I just want it to end." Arya lies to the little girl, telling her that she too was once sick but drinking the waters of the fountain healed her. The girl takes a sip. Jaqen keeps watch over the exchange and later, after Arya washes Ghita's corpse, he leads her into the Hall of Faces. Arya is mesmerized by the cavernous space filled with thousands of distinct faces collected from all the corpses. Jaqen denies Arya a new face: "A girl is not ready to become No One. But she is ready to become Someone Else."

Tyrion Lannister and Jorah Mormont stop along a stream, exhausted from their travels. Criticizing Jorah as a terrible traveling companion, Tyrion realizes Jorah knows nothing about what brought him to Essos. Tyrion explains he went on the run after killing Tywin and Shae, then goes on to praise Jeor Mormont – "at least your father was a good man." As he mentions the passing of the Lord Commander, Tyrion belatedly realizes that Jorah didn't know about his father's death at the hand of Night's Watch mutineers.

Tyrion and Jorah continue walking and debate Daenerys' right to the Iron Throne. The argument is cut short when the duo is captured by slavers. Alarmed by their desire to kill him and sell his parts, Tyrion talks them into keeping him alive. He prompts Ser Jorah to play up his combat record so he can be sold not as a galley slave but as a warrior in the fighting pits of Meereen – getting them that much closer to Daenerys.

Identifying himself as simply "Brother Lancel," Lancel Lannister greets Littlefinger upon his return to the capital. Lancel informs Littlefinger that the city is much changed: "You'll find there's little tolerance for flesh peddlers in the new King's Landing." Littlefinger meets with Cersei and pledges the Knights of the Vale to her side, before breaking the news of Sansa's engagement to Ramsay Bolton. Cersei is furious, but Littlefinger advises patience: "Let the enemies of the Throne slaughter each other and when they're done, seize Winterfell from whichever thief survives." Unable to muster a force any other way, Cersei agrees to use the Knights of the Vale to take Winterfell and name Littlefinger Warden of the North if they succeed.

Trystane Martell and Myrcella Baratheon discuss their impending marriage as they stroll through the Water Gardens, unaware they are being watched by Doran Martell. "We must protect them," the prince tells his bodyguard Areo Hotah.

Jaime and Bronn, now dressed in uniforms stolen from the dead Dornish soldiers, approach Myrcella and Trystane. The introductions are surprising and awkward, more so when Trystane spots blood on Bronn's clothing. Bronn knocks the prince out before he can draw his sword but Myrcella resists Jaime's attempts to pull her away. The rescue is further complicated by the arrival of the Sand Snakes, who battle Jaime and Bronn for Myrcella until Areo puts an end to all the fighting. Ellaria is also taken into custody.

Olenna Tyrell, newly returned to King's Landing, consoles Margaery about Loras' arrest. She promises her granddaughter that she will take care of Cersei Lannister. In conference with the queen mother, Olenna threatens to stop subsidizing the crown but Cersei is unmoved, certain that the Tyrells don't want to slide the kingdom back into war. She assures Olenna that it will be a small hearing and once Loras is cleared, the "happy alliance" between the Lannisters and Tyrells will continue.

At the inquest, Loras downplays his relationship with Renly. He fought for Joffrey at the Blackwater – regardless of whose armor he wore, he reminds the High Sparrow. Loras vehemently denies the charges of fornication, buggery, and blasphemy. Margaery tries to evade questioning, but the High Sparrow is adamant: "Neither kings nor queens are exempt from testimony at a holy inquest." Under oath, she too swears that Loras is innocent of the charges. With that, the High Sparrow brings in Olyvar, Loras' former squire. He testifies that he and Loras lay together many times, and that Margaery was aware of their relationship. Olyvar brings up a birthmark on Loras' thigh as proof of their intimacy, satisfying the High Sparrow who detains Loras for a formal trial. Margaery is also taken for bearing false witness. As his wife is dragged away begging for help, Tommen fails to intervene.

Ramsay's lover Myranda draws a bath for Sansa and advises her to keep Ramsay happy. As she washes Sansa's hair, she rattles off the names of the women who bored Ramsay, including Tansy, whom Ramsay and Myranda hunted and killed. Realizing that Myranda is in love with her fiancé, Sansa puts her in her place: "I am Sansa Stark of Winterfell. This is my home. And you can't frighten me."

Escorted by Theon through the godswood, Sansa is married to Ramsay Bolton. Sansa retires with her new husband to his chambers where she confirms she is a virgin; Tyrion never touched her. Pleased by her honesty, Ramsay commands Sansa to undress, and for Theon to remain in the room and watch everything. Ramsay tears off Sansa's clothing and pushes his wife onto the bed. "You've known Sansa since she was a girl," he tells Theon. "Now watch her become a woman." Theon remains in the room, trembling and wanting to turn away. But he can't.
